Goodbye moonbeam

Conan, I miss you a lot. You have been my bestie.

The last month with Conan was really difficult. After he had his ear removed, he did really well up until March, when he began a slow decline. We went to the vet 3 times, but everything appeared normal, his tests were normal, he just couldn’t swallow his food, only very small amounts. He stopped grooming himself, and he lost a lot of weight. After the 4th visit, it was determined that he had neurologic disease, but by then he was so sick. In early April, his decline became rapid. He was suffering from not being able to eat food, no matter how much variety I put out, he could only eat liquid treats, even though he tried so hard to eat, he could never eat enough. The day before he passed, he was struggling to walk straight, his pupils were different sizes, he had no energy left. And so the very hard decision was made, to let him go. I called an at home euthanasia service, and he went very peacefully, after a long hard battle. He went out as a fighter.

RIP Conan. 18 October 2011 – 15 April 2026.
