30 September – Singapore Changi Airport
What do you do to kill time for 13 hours?
Luckily, I’m at Changi airport where there are plenty of facilities for transit travelers.
Arrived at Terminal 1 with Singapore Airlines at 5.50am, and took a free SkyTrain to Terminal 2. Here I had a booking with the Ambassador Transit Lounge for a 6 hour nap room.
I took advantage of the facilities included in my booking. Refreshing shower, napped for hours and had a buffet lunch. They provide a towel, toothbrush/toothpaste, room slippers and a clean single bed. It was really good and refreshing after an 8 hour flight and helped me kill time.

The only downside of the nap rooms are you can hear everything around you! If someone is snoring or moving around, because the walls don’t reach the ceiling. Luckily I brought ear plugs. Lifesaving.
Other than that, everything is exactly what you need. The food was really good at the buffet too! Definitely try the seafood stew if you are into seafood. I’m glad I booked it.
So that’s 6 hours, I’m still trying to kill the time now. I finally tried a Singapore Sling.

With the Singapore Airlines app I was able to check on the progress of my luggage for peace of mind. I also can check my boarding pass and any delays, as well as the in flight menu. Seeing as they will serve dinner on the 6.30pm flight I won’t bother buying dinner.
What I’ve noticed most about Singapore Changi airport is that most of the food is pretty westernized. I’d imagine because they have a lot of international transit patrons, but as I write this I sit next to a dunkin donut 😄
I’m so keen to get to Kathmandu and Paro! Seeing as I’ve been in Singapore before, the feeling is familiar. I still have no idea of the culture shock I’m in for yet. Feeling very content to be traveling there right now, can’t wait to experience something completely new!!
